Earlier this year, my brother Will Brown and I had the pleasure of scoring a truly special short film titled Love Is Blind, written and directed by the incredibly talented Parneille Walker.
It all started back in January 2025, when I was contacted by editor and post-producer A’sia Horne. She was working on a project with her good friend Parneille and was in search of the right sound to bring their vision to life. Once A’sia connected us, the rest was magic. Even before the score, the film had me hooked. The story had energy, heart, humor—everything you love about a great rom-com. Parneille nailed it. Once we caught the vibe, Will and I knew exactly what the film needed.
Love Is Blind is a modern-day romantic comedy that follows a man on a hilariously awkward blind date in Los Angeles, where just about everything that could go wrong, does.
Working with Parneille was not only fun—it was incredibly rewarding. The film has been receiving love and recognition across the globe, picking up awards and nominations along the way:

Though this is Parneille’s directorial debut, she’s no newcomer to the TV and film world. As a seasoned post-production supervisor, she’s worked on major studio productions for CBS, Warner Bros., Fox, and Disney. With Love Is Blind, she stepped into the spotlight and brought her unique voice to the forefront.
The reception has been overwhelming—in the best way. From LA to Harlem to Cannes, audiences have been clapping and cheering through the closing credits. It’s been such a blessing for 1985 Music to be part of this journey. We’re proud of the work, proud of the team, and excited for what’s coming next.
